Post Removal:

1. Lock the instrument on the exposed point
2. Snugly place an ultrasonic tip in the neck of the instrument
3. Gradually increase power
4. Ultrasonic vibrations crack the cement
5. As the cement bonds begin to crack, gently move side-to-side to remove the post

Root-Tip Removal

1. Lock the instrument on the broken root tip
2. Use serrated periotomes to sever the remaining ligaments
3. Rock left to right to loosen and remove
